With tools like jigsaw
It’s the objects in my closest nearness that can turn to be a model. Usually the shadow of a “daily life object”, which takes more free shapes; shortened, distorted or extended and as such may give shape to a thought or a feeling.
I have worked with most materials and methods, but graphic art is usually the expression I return to.
For my plates, I mostly use 2-3mm rusty iron plate instead of copper.
I find a particular beauty in the raw material exposed to the weather. It inspires me in many different ways.
With tools like jigsaw, electric drill, file, sandpaper and nail, I process the iron plate before it is ready to be inked and printed.
The thickness of the iron plate gives a relief in the copper printing paper, which gives a further depth effect.
